They’ve been building up the anticipation for months, and finally “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” hit 2,700 theaters in 3D last night (June 28).
Additionally, special midnight showings also drew tons of fans, bringing the total ticket sales for yesterday alone to $13.5 million.
This strong start for the third Michael Bay-directed installment of the franchise bodes well for the upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend numbers.
Paramount Pictures declared that they expect ticket sales to be well within the $155 million to $165 million range by the end of the weekend.
